A refurbishment to the function room in Gran Melia Jakarta, a timeless luxury downtown hotel. The space respects the natural and earthy tones of the existing grand lobby. Natural materials such as stained walnut, leather, and antique brass render a luxury minimalistic approach, this allows the event and participants can be at ease and focus on the meetings at hand. The function room lends flexibility to any event, be it for 30 or 200 guests, with plenty of natural lighting with its floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The pre-function, an open versatile space where guests having meetings may take a respite, share space with other meeting participants, or have exclusive cocktails. Purpose-built millworks are thoughtfully integrated into the design, as well as cabinets that withdraw and fold in to reveal coffee and tea-making facilities and spaces to display snacks.
